Kennedy Park Resort COVID-19 Update

Kennedy Park Resort Napier has a long standing commitment to being Hawke’s Bay’s dedicated supported self-isolating facility. As an essential provider, the resort provides accommodation services for essential workers and self-isolation guests if required.

This means that after a medical officer has assessed the patient and they have no appropriate means to self-isolate they will be transferred Kennedy Park Resort.

Due to the evolving situation of COVID-19 in our community, we are supporting the care of a recent positive COVID-19 case.

Please note that this guest is located away from others in a stand-alone unit. They are not allowed to leave their room or the dedicated outside space, are unable to utilise any of the resort’s facilities. Security is in place under the strict procedures of the District Health Board. The only interaction Kennedy Park staff have is picking up rubbish or linen (once a week) from outside their room. Appropriate PPE will be worn during this time. This is all under the guidance and training of the DHB.

We want to assure our guests that we’re taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and are following Ministry of Health guidelines including the following:
1. Mandatory QR code scanning
2. Restrictions on numbers in certain areas i.e. reception and some common rooms
3. All public areas and our Reception are being cleaned multiple times per day
4. Storkeys Restaurant is open as normal allowing for social distancing, as well as a takeaway service operating.
