Things to do while in Hawke’s Bay

Take in stunning scenery and 1930’s architecture including Art Deco & Spanish Mission.  Hawke’s Bay also has a number of golf courses including the world famous course at Cape Kidnappers.

Book a Gannet Tour with us.  We have the World’s largest mainland Gannet Nesting Site, and explore the spectacular vertical cliffs at Cape Kidnappers which were once the sea floor, aging between 300,000 and 4.5 million years ago.  Made up of gravel, silt and pumice, the distinctive layers represent the different types of marine sediment.  Over time, earthquakes have raised them up to their current glory to form a spectacular vision from any angle.

Purchase your Wine Tour tickets from our reception.  Hawke’s Bay has over 60 wineries and is New Zealand’s leading producer of the finest quality red wine.  80% of New Zealand Plantings of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown in the region.  Enjoy a tasting at one of the 40 cellar doors open to visitors, or enjoy a meal in one of the many winery restaurants.

You may also enjoy the off road path/cycle way that links Napier, Taradale, Hastings and Havelock North.  Hire a couple of bicycles from Reception and within two hours or less you will have taken in the invigorating sea breeze and enjoyed spectacular views along the Hawke’s Bay coastline.

Traditional farmer’s markets are held every weekend allowing you to chat to growers directly while enjoying an unbeatable gourmet experience.

Relax we have got it all!
